Orientation
Marbella is a long municipality on the western Costa del Sol. It stretches from Cabopino and the eastern beaches, through the old town and the Golden Mile, out to Puerto Banús, Nueva Andalucía and San Pedro de Alcántara. Because all of that sits inside a single town name, "Málaga Airport to Marbella" can mean very different transfers depending on which part of the municipality your final address is in. This page maps the zones, describes how the final address shapes your transfer, and points you at the route page that matches your journey. There is no rail service to any part of Marbella — the airport-direct Cercanías C-1 line terminates in Fuengirola and does not continue west along the coast.
Zones inside the municipality
- Marbella old town (Casco Antiguo)
- The historic centre, pedestrianised around Plaza de los Naranjos and Alameda Park. Most centrally-located hotels sit along or just off Avenida Ricardo Soriano.
- Golden Mile
- The stretch of luxury hotels, private villas and beach clubs between central Marbella and Puerto Banús. Reached from the A-7 with local turnoffs; sea-side and inland-side addresses differ in access.
- Puerto Banús
- Marina district immediately west of Marbella. It has its own route page (Málaga Airport → Puerto Banús) covering marina-specific pickup context.
- Nueva Andalucía
- Inland residential valley behind Puerto Banús, home to the "Golf Valley" courses. Slightly different routing off the A-7 than the marina.
- San Pedro de Alcántara
- The western urban core of the Marbella municipality, further west along the coast beyond Puerto Banús. A common reference point before addresses continue further west into Benahavís or Estepona.
- Elviria, Las Chapas, Cabopino
- Eastern coastal beach areas of the Marbella municipality. Popular for resort hotels and villa rentals.
